Equities registered across the board gains on Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) on Tuesday amid ascending volume on account of fresh buying activity. The LSE-25 index surged to 3747.41 from 3634.39 of Monday, showing an increase of 115.02 points while turnover rose to 7.805 million shares as compared to previous volume of 4.869 million shares.
The market opened on a positive note and showed positive signs. Brokers said that investors took fresh positions and led the market to upward position. PSO, Attock Refinery, FFC, Engro Corporation, MCB Bank, PPL, ICI, JDW Sugar Mills, PSO and ABL registered gains, while DS Industries, PIA and MY Bank suffered losses.
Gainers were more than losers, as out of 122 active issues, 65 companies posted gains and 3 went down, while values of 54 companies remained unchanged. PSO gained Rs 13.73, Attock Refinery appreciated by Rs 5.72 while FFC, Engro Corporation, MCB Bank, PPL, ICI, JDW Sugar Mills, PSO and ABL lost Rs 5.63, Rs 5.47, Rs 4.99, Rs 4.85, Rs 4.70, Rs 4.43, Rs 3.50 and Rs 3.26. DS Industries depreciated by Rs 0.55, while PIAC and MY Bank were down by Rs 0.09 and Rs 0.03, respectively.
