Punjab Assembly in its 22nd session Tuesday adopted a number of resolutions of non-treasury members. A resolution regarding depletion of roads on the banks of river Chenab resulting in difficulties to carry food products to mandi was passed by the House.
A resolution by Dr Faiza Asghar asking for improvement in health facilities in health units, tehsil and district headquarter hospitals by the mover was too passed by the House. In the House a resolution by MPA Ijaz Ahmed Khan to reduce Haj fares was passed by the House. A resolution by MPA Zubia Rabab regarding giving ad hoc allowance to provincial employees of the government was rejected by the House on the occasion.
Dr Tanvir-ul-Islam Minister Culture to aquestion said that a number of steps had been taken to promote culture in Multan Division, including establishing of Craft Council in the area. He said in the previous two years craftsmen of Multan had visited England, Germany and India.
The minister said that an Art Gallery namely Sadiq Ali Shahzad had been established in Multan. The minister to a query pointed that in 2004 the management of Shalamar Bagh was given to Archives department Punjab. To a query minister stated that Gujranwala Arts Council was established in September1, 1983 while Punjab Arts Council was established through an Act in year1975.
He answering to a question pointed that that script of dramas played in Lahore theatres is checked by script scrutiny committee appointed by Punjab Arts Council. A number of adjournment motions were presented in the House and after mentioning of quorum by a legislator, the House was later adjourned by the Chair.
