Suspension of police officials: Chief Justice LHC dismisses petition

Lahore High Court Chief Justice, Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry Monday dismissed a petition filed earlier by as many as 15 inspectors of Punjab police, questioning their suspension and transfer to police lines. The court, while dismissing the petition of Saifullah and others, held that it cannot interfere in the service matters, the like in hand, which are regulated by the Inspector General of Police, Punjab.
The petitioners had contended that they have been penalised for unfounded corruption charges when the fact is they did nothing of that kind, but fell victim to the vengeance and wrath of the superiors.
