Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has expressed its concern over decision of Federal Shariat Court (FSC) seeks reversal of several provisions of the Women's Protection Act (WPA) 2006. The commission said the decision undermines the authority of the parliament. The commission considers the decision a setback to efforts for equal protection of law for women. The commission urged the government and the civil society to challenge the FSC decision.
