The European vegetable oils market ground to a halt on Friday when operators closed their books at noon for the Christmas break, market sources said. Markets are closed from noon on Friday, December 24, due to an official non-business day. "Players closed books early on Friday and business was very thin with prices just nominal," one broker said. The only business seen was in RBD olein at $1,192.50 and $1,195 a tonne fob Malaysia for April/June, unchanged from Thursday.
