Karachi Port's and Port Qasim's activities

The Karachi Port handled 110,018 tonnes of cargo including 71,750 tonnes of import cargo, 38,268 tonnes of export cargo, 4,157 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 71,750 tonnes comprised of 27,453 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,292 tonnes of general cargo; 36,662 tonnes of bulk cargo: 924 tonnes of sugar; 26,910 tonnes of coal; 8,828 canola seeds and 1,343 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 38,268 tonnes comprised of 12,400 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,370 tonnes of general cargo; 7,279 tonnes of bulk cargo: 5,617 tonnes of cement; 1,662 tonnes of rice and 17,219 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely President Truman, Hiba Al-Noor, Greenwich Bridge, Pertiwi and Cos Fair sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Manila Express, Lt. Genova, Pertiwi, Nomtas-1, Easy Prosperity, F Spirit and Triton Swift are currently at the berth. Four ships namely Triton Swift, Spar Gemini, Concord and Manila Express are expected to sail on Thursday. Four vessels viz North Pole, Williamburg Bridge, TS Dubai and Fatima due to arrive on Thursday, while six vessels viz Oriental Freesina, Freight Margie, New Challange, YM Europe, Alitis and Urawee Naree are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 62,978 tonnes of cargo includes 49,023 tonnes of import cargo and 13,955 tonnes of export cargo, 1,840 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 49,023 tonnes includes 25,596 tonnes of diesel oil; 6,000 tonnes of palm oil; 649 tonnes of sugar; 1,028 tonnes of project cargo; 600 tonnes of chemicals and 15,150 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo 13,955 tonnes includes 3,995 tonnes of rice and 9,960 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A container ship namely CV Ikaruga and edible oil ship namely MT Bunga Alamada sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while four more ships namely CV MSC Jade, CV CMA CGM Onyx, MV Thor Spirit and MT Al-Deerah are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of ten vessels viz CV MSC Jade, CV CMA CGM Onyx, CV Ikaruga, Al-Jaber, MT Multan, MV Lanka Mahapola, MV Thor Spirit, Al-Jaber, MT Bunga Alamada, MT Synnove Knutsen and MT Al-Deerah are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, project cargo, palm oil, chemicals and diesel oil respectively.
Five ships namely Libra Ipanema, MY Young, Yon Pung Ho, Mukhtarah and Cape Egmont carrying containers, sugar, furnace oil and chemicals are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz namely CV Libra Ipanema, CV New Delhi Express, CV Santa Paola and MT Mukhtarah carrying containers and furnace oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
A container ship namely CV Glory due to arrive on Friday, while two more ships namely CV Hammonia Roma and MT Maersk Cameron with containers and palm oil are due to arrive on Saturday. A total number of two ships namely CV MSC Nederland and Pana Glotisk carrying containers and canola seeds are also due to arrive.
