Targeted killings: various parts of Shah Faisal Town under grip of tension

Target killings of two political activists belonging to Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in separate incidents on Thursday gripped various parts of the Shah Faisal Town in stiff tension. According to police sources, an ANP worker Nadeem Raza, 30, son of Ashiq Hussain was shot dead in the limits of Shara-e-Faisal police in the wee hours of Thursday.
They said the tension engulfed the said area, when mother Bakhtawar Rasool and sister Sadia Gull of another ANP activist Shahkukh were sustained bullets of unidentified motorcyclists while returning from court, who were later shifted to Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment. In another incident, an activist of PPP namely Lal Muhammad was killed at Sher Muhammad Goth.
Following the said incident, the tension gripped Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Sher Mohammad Goth where shops were forcibly closed by unknown armed persons. Later, the heavy contingent of police and Rangers were deployed at the said areas to maintain peace but they are unable to do so till the filing of this report.
