Karachi Port Trust (KPT) in collaboration with a team of Pakistani American doctors from the United States and a student from Cornell University New York held a medical camp on December 22 at Baba and Bhit islands to screen eye diseases and diabetes.
Free eyeglasses and diabetes testing supplies were provided by the organisers and minor procedures were carried out at the site. The camp was inaugurated by KPT Chairperson Nasreen Haque along with other organisers including KPT and Pakistani American doctors. Services like vision testing and evaluation for eye diseases, diabetes and blood pressure screening, free eyeglasses were provided to citizens of the twin island community.
The American medical team distributed free eyeglasses to patients and provided free treatments to patients suffering from diabetes and eye related diseases. The medical team has also operated free medical clinics in the United States under the auspices of Southern Nevada Community Foundation.-PR
