Emirates Airline, in association with the American Express Group (AEG), held a second edition of its programme for corporate travel bookers. The Travel Bookers Programme was first launched in Karachi earlier this year with the objective to raise awareness about optimising the role of travel agents in the aviation sector of Pakistan.
According to a press release issued by Emirates Airline here on Wednesday, the event led by the Emirates Sales team was geared at educating corporate clientele, responsible for making corporate travel bookings, about the role of travel agents alongside Emirates' newest offerings. Through this event, Emirates intended to acknowledge their corporate clientele in Lahore, from both local and multi-national organisations and create greater awareness through one-on-one interaction regarding the function of Emirates as their valued airline partner.
The programme featured various speakers such as Badr Abbas, VP Pakistan & Afghanistan; Noman Siddiqui, the Corporate Sales Manager Pakistan; Christopher Trinidad, Tour Executive Emirates Holidays; and Delilah Robinson, Senior Customer Sales Agent Skywards (Emirates rewards programme for its frequent flyers) who all addressed the audience. They briefed the audience on Emirates latest Skywards products, Emirates Holiday packages and airline's newest destinations for 2011, which include Basra and Geneva as well as the additions being made to their already extensive fleet. Emirates currently has a total of 153 aircrafts including 15 state-of-the-art Airbus A380s. In line with its growth strategy and growing destination network the airline also has 200 additional aircrafts on order worth $68billion.
Speaking at the occasion, Badr Abbas said: "In 2009-10, Emirates carried 27.5 million passengers on its global network of 109 destinations, an increase of 4.8 million passengers on the previous year. Tailor-made products, modern aircraft, an increasing number of flight options, as our fleet expands, and new destinations will continue to drive our growth and offer an enhanced flying experience to passengers. Last year Emirates carried more than 420,000 Pakistani passengers and we remain committed to further cementing our presence in Pakistan by providing world-class service and even more travel options."-PR
