He said that not only foreign doctors but Pakistani doctors and paramedical staff also took active part in overcoming the devastation of recent flood and provided medical facilities to the people in distress. He said that today he will ask a haunting question from doctors that despite provision of machinery and medicines worth billion of rupees in rural and basic health centers, why a common man is deprived of the treatment facilities in these areas? He said that like Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar and Karachi, the people living in villages have also right over quality medical facilities.
He said that in spite of this condition of the rural and basic health centers, Punjab government has imported six modern mobile health units for provision of quality medical facilities to the people of rural and backward areas at their door steps and for the first time in the history of the country, first mobile health unit will be inaugurated on December 25, the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam. He said that like civilised society, we will have to ensure provision of quality medical facilities to every person without any discrimination throughout the country and doctors will have to play their due role for this purpose.
