Qazi Husain Ahmed, former chief of the Jamaat-e-Islami, has appealed to the people to extend every possible help and assistance to the flood-affected millions facing the present extreme winter season. He was talking to media after receiving 8 truck loads of relief goods worth 5 million for the flood affected people, here on Wednesday at Mansoora.
He further said that the PPP-ANP coalition government in the Khyber was issuing Watan cards only to party workers residing in hill tops which had not been affected by the flood water. On the other hands, millions of people in the flood-affected areas were still living in tents and were in dire need of shelter, food and warm clothes. It was basically the government duty to provide necessary help and assistance to these people, he added. He also appealed to the well to do people, philanthropists, different families and welfare organisations to come forward for the relief of their flood affected brethren.
