The syndicate of University of Health Sciences (UHS) has approved the affiliation of Islam Medical College, Sialkot and Rashid Latif Medical College, Lahore. The UHS syndicate, however, has declined the request of Amina Inayat Medical College, Sheikhupura due to recommendations of UHS Affiliation Committee.
The 22nd meeting of UHS syndicate was held here on Wednesday with Vice Chancellor Professor Malik Hussain Mubbashar in the chair, a spokesman of the UHS said. According to the spokesman, the members of the syndicate agreed to revise the criteria for award of distinction in all professional examinations.
He further said the UHS syndicate also decided that from annual examinations 2011, only those candidates who secured 95 percent or above marks in any subject would be awarded distinction. The decision was made keeping in view the current scenario of high marks in professional examinations subsequent to the adoption of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Short Essay Questions (SEQs) pattern.
