Ban on pillion riding lifted in Karachi

KARACHI: The ban on pillion riding in the metropolis has been lifted from Wednesday. This was announced by the Home Minister Sindh, Manzoor Hussain Wassan.

In a statement here he said that he was aware of the inconveniences caused to the people because of ban on pillion riding.

However, he added, the restriction was placed for the first 10 days of Muharram in the wake of the intelligence reports regarding likelihood of any act of terror.

The Minister also appreciated the performance of the law enforcement agencies for the maintenance of the peaceful condition during the period.

He also lauded the cooperation extended by all the parties, ulema and the people.
