PMEX index closes at 3,060 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited's commodity Index on Wednesday closed at 3,060 points.

The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at Rs 7.584 billion and the number of lots traded was 13,364, says press release here on Thursday.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to Rs 3.947 billion, followed by WTI crude oil Rs 1.168 million, currencies through COTS Rs 1.148 billion, copper  Rs 305.183 million, platinum Rs 299.998 million, silver Rs 293.715 million, NSDQ100 (Rs 157.430 million, DJIA Rs 152.802 million, natural gas Rs 43.786 million, Brent crude oil Rs 40.994 million and SNP500 Rs 26.061 million. In agricultural commodities, 17,145 lots of red chili amounting to Rs 3.017 million were traded.
