Breach inundated cultivated area

NAWABSHAH: Wide cultivated area came under water when 30 feet wide breach occurred in Chhan Badhani Canal near Jamsahib town in early hours of Monday.

The flood water gushing out from the breach inundated cultivated area around village Syed Ameer Ali Shah.

Local resident said that the embankments of canal were turned weak and irrigation department was immediately informed about the vulnerable point.

They said that breach occurred at the weak site on holiday due to which no staff of irrigation department arrived at the site.

Villagers said that resident later plugged the breach on self help basis.
