Barrister Taj Muhammad Khan Langah Chief of Pakistan Seraiki Party (PSP) has vehemently condemned the role of the Seraiki Parliamentarians who did not oppose the 18th constitutional amendment nor walk out of the session for not induction of clause of Seraiki province in the constitutional amendment
"The 60 million people of Southern Punjab would keep on their struggle to get their demands fulfilled. We have been struggling for our rights for the past three decades and we would get the dictatorial acts of General Yahya Khan repealed on our own," the Seraiki leader said. Barrister Taj Muhammad Khan Langah said that the passage of 18th amendment was a bad omen because it had neglected the basic rights of Seraiki people.
Provincial autonomy to Punjab would further add to the miseries of Southern Punjab people. He suggested that a private bill should be tabled by any parliamentarian aimed at getting assurance by the treasury of assistance in bringing the 19th amendment to ensure more provinces which would reinforce the federation of Pakistan. However, the political elites had disappointed the people of Bahawalpur, Multan and DG Khan divisions.
"Let me reassure that people of Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan Divisions would get their identity with the creation of Saraiki Province. I would get back with massive public support to get the amendment passed from the parliament to ensure restoration of Saraiki Province as the people at the helm only understand the language of force. Until and unless the people of Southern Punjab get their rights, the constitution would remain incomplete," he added.
He claimed that all the country was buzzing with demands for creation of new province of "Seraikistan." "When Pakistan came into being, four provinces were enough to serve 30 million people. However, now these four provinces are unable to cater the needs of 170 million people of Pakistan and Pakistan has become a country for the people of only five cities - Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta and Peshawar. Smaller provinces would not only bring in good governance, better distribution of resources and better law and order, but it would also ensure empowerment of the people living in under-developed and un-served areas of the country," he added.
