A renowned Indian entrepreneur Asha Jadeja has recently launched her international venture capital firm in Pakistan.

Jadeja is also famous in the entrepreneurship community of Silicon Valley. Called the Dot Edu Ventures, it is already an esteemed venture capital fund in the Silicon Valley and has been launched in Pakistan as Dot Edu Ventures (DEV) Global. The fund has already invested in five IT startups in the country, aiming to advance it in upcoming months.

Jadeja also has investments in DIY Geeks in Pakistan; Daftarkhwan, a Pakistan-based co-working space creating a society of entrepreneurs, startups and professionals determined towards innovating, sharing and growing together. Earlier this year, she also gave $100,000 as an equity-free grant to DIY Geek’s founder. She is also sustaining Maker movement in the country through giving allowances to Pakistani innovators and encouraging innovation and community building among scientists, engineers and innovators, reported Tech Juice.

Through her Rajeev Circle Fellowship program, Jaedeja supported young Pakistani and Indian entrepreneurs and invited them to Silicon Valley for two weeks to socialize with and learn from respective people.

“DEV is excited at the prospect of contributing to the Pakistani startup scene,” Jadeja said. DEV has invested in almost 25 startups till now and also attained a stake in Google, Pinterest, Uber, Twitter and over 100 other tech organizations.

Apart from Pakistan, DEV also targets other developing countries such as India and Kenya, according to Indian Web.
