Syed Mehdi Shah has been elected unopposed as the first Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan in the session of the legislative assembly here on Friday. Wazir Baig of PPP has been elected Speaker and Jameel Ahmed as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. Mehdi Shah is regional president of Pakistan People Party (PPP). Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira will administer oath to the elected Chief Minister.
