Ulema-e-Deoband of Jamia Manzoor-ul-Islamia while holding the government responsible for killings at Lal Masjid have demanded constitution of an independent commission to investigate the matter.
Maulana Pir Saifullah Khan Naqshbandi, Principal Jamia Manzoor-ul-Islamia accompanied by Dr Abdur Rauf Farooqi, Maulana Mian Abdur Rehman and Maulana Pir Asadullah Farooqi told newsmen at a press conference here on Saturday that loss of lives of innocent people is a matter of grave concern.
They were of the view that a case should be registered against the government over killings of innocent people at Lal Masjid. They also demanded that names of those persons should be made public who had given arms to Jamia Hafsa administration. They were of the view that operation Lal Masjid has been started by the government to divert public attention from London APC and judicial crisis.
Moreover, MMA leader and Acting Amir Jamaat-i-Islami Punjab, Azhar Iqbal Hasan, said here on Saturday that operation Lal Masjid, firing on mosque and humiliation of Madrassa students were spreading resentment among the public against the government. He was of the view that killings of innocent people are a matter of concern.
He further said that nation is eagerly awaiting outcome of London APC and hopefully this moot will help pave way for a grand opposition alliance to get rid of present regime. He demanded that army should return to barracks respecting public sentiments.
