Various social sector projects initiated

The Ministry of Social Welfare has started Child Domestic Labour Project (basic Enabling Education Programme non-formal centers) with the total cost of Rs 34.639 million earmarking Rs 10 million as budgetary allocation for the fiscal year 2007-08.
Sources told Business Recorder here on Monday that district based NGOs Management System was started with the total estimated cost of Rs 32.015 million and the allocation under PSDP for 2007-08 is Rs 5 million.
Moreover, Rs 39.324 million is the estimated cost of community development projects at Turbat, Quetta, Panjgur, Gwadar and the allocation under PSDP next fiscal is Rs 8.970 million, they said. While social services projects in Fata, Fana and Karachi were started with the total cost of Rs 32.844 million while Rs 8.4 million is the budgetary allocation under PSDP for 2007-08, they said.
Community Development Projects at Aurakzai Agency and Astore in Northern Areas started with Rs 13.108 million and Rs 2,990 was allocated under PSDP for the current fiscal, they said. The estimated project cost of the Construction of Special Education Centre Sibbi was Rs 38.50 million while expenditure up to June 2007 was Rs 26.211 million and the budgetary allocation under PSDP 2007-08 is Rs 12.319 million, they informed.
Moreover, estimated project cost of the construction of Special Education Centre at Kohat is Rs 39.280 million while expenditure up to June 2007 is Rs 36.238 million and the allocation under PSDP is Rs 3.042 million, they said.
The project of vocational training center for disabled at Peshawar and Quetta was started with the total cost of Rs 21.434 million while expenditure up to June 2007 was Rs 25.257 million and one million was allocated for the current fiscal, they said.
They said the ministry started Pilot project for integrated education of children with disabilities, Islamabad with the total cost of Rs 28.548 million. The expenditure up to June 2007 was Rs 177.082 million and amount carried forward on June 30 was Rs 11.466 million whereas PSDP allocation in the budget 2007-08 was Rs 5 million.
The up-gradation of 4 Special Education Centres for physically handicapped children from primary to middle level Sialkot, Gujrat, Larkana and Mirpurkhas was started with the total cost of Rs 23.712 million. The expenditure up to June 2007 was Rs 18.244 million and the amount carried forward on June 30, 2007 was Rs 5.468 million. Moreover, budgetary allocation under PSDP during the current fiscal is Rs 5.468 million.
