The Test match between New Zealand and South Africa came to an abrupt halt, after a fire alarm went off in the main grandstand of University Oval stadium on Friday.
The stadium was evacuated quickly, as officials Stopped the final session on day three as firemen searched the grandstand.

Leading to the Test match getting delayed for some 20 minutes as both teams were herded to the middle of the pitch as sirens sounded across the ground. Whereas, the spectators sitting in the main stand were evacuated.
According to Stuff.co.nz, it was later found that the grandstand fire alarm was caused by steam, informed the fire service.
Late on the play was resumed after the clearance by the fore service Officials halted the final session on day three and emptied the ground as firemen searched the grandstand.

At stumps on day three South Africa were 38 for the loss of one wicket leading by 5 runs.
