KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed lower on Wednesday having 49853.05 points with a negative change of 6.34 and volume of 174,849,930 shares.

High and Low were 50034.94 and 49742.74 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 498,187,650 shares with 399 total traded companies out of which 217 were up 166 were down and 16 were unchanged.

TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 75,328,000 shares. It was followed by COMMERCIAL BANKS with a total traded volume of 61,458,200 shares.

The three top traded companies were Dost Steels Ltd.. with a volume of 37,342,000 and price per share of 15.63 (1.00), Power Cement Ltd. with a volume 36,541,000 of price per share of 17.32 (0.75), B.O.Punjab with a volume 31,041,000 of price per share of 18.08 (1.00).

The top three advancers were Sanofi-Aventis with price per share 2900.74 (138.88), Rafhan Maize with price per share of 7619.00 (109.00) and Nestle Pakistan. share of 9099.99 (99.99).

The top three decliners were Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share of 4359.70 (-221.00), Pak Tobacco with price per share of 1160.00 (-40.00) and Abbott Lab. share of 1036.64 (-30.06).
