KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed lower on Wednesday having 49756.77 points with a negative change of 212.15 and volume of 172,656,140 shares.

High and Low were 50267.24 and 49721.46 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 459,446,630shares with 407 total traded companies out of which 185 were up 212 were down and 10 were unchanged.

POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 77,680,600 shares. It was followed by ENGINEERING with a total traded volume of 66,579,400 shares.

The three top traded companies were Japan Power. with a volume of 48,117,000 and price per share of 8.01 (0.92), Dost Steels Ltd. with a volume 34,020,500 of price per share of 14.04 (0.49), TRG Pak Ltd... with a volume 27,956,500 of price per share of 53.12 (2.48).

The top three advancers were Rafhan Maize with price per share 8150.00 (150.00), Sanofi-Aventis. with price per share of 2634.50 (34.50) and Indus Motor Co.. share of 1802.95 (31.47).

The top three decliners were Nestle Pakistan with price per share of 8902.00 (-99.01), Pak Tobacco with price per share of 1218.66 (-64.14) and Wyeth Pak Ltd share of 4574.67 (-35.93).
