Since returning from suspension Fast bowler Muhammad Amir has been encircled by bad luck, as catches being dropped off the left-arm pacer bowling has sadly become a regulation in Pakistan cricket.
Some 11 catches have gone down off Amir bowling, since his much anticipated international return, out of which four catches have been denied to Amir in the ongoing New Zealand tour, reported ESPNcricinfo.
The ongoing phenomenon has disheartened Amir, who accepted that drop catches affects the bowler as well as the whole team.
"Yes, it affects the bowler when you run from 22 yards and your catch is dropped you're disappointed and frustrated," Amir said. "But it affects the team more than the individual. I've been very unlucky, but I try to be a team man, added the left armer.
Its difficult to keep count, but I think at least 12-13 catches have gone down off my bowling in Tests and about six-seven catches have been dropped in the shorter formats as well, Amir further informed.
The ongoing New Zealand has been a story of crass batting and missed opportunities by Pakistan, who are given a formidable 369-run target to win the second Test on Monday, thanks to a superb century by seasoned Black Caps batsman Ross Taylor.
