Pakistan defeat in the first Test match against New Zealand at Christchurch, has taken a toll on the rankings of Pakistani players in the latest ICC Test Rankings.
Veteran batsman Younis Khan, was removed from the Top five club after dropping two places from fourth position to sixth in the latest MRF Tyres ICC Players Rankings for Tests. Younis Khan scored just 2 and 1 runs in the first and second innings, respectively, of the first Test match at Christchurch.
Pakistan skipper Misbah ul Haq also dropped from 11th position to 14th, whereas, Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq also drop places, and are now placed at 16th and 20th position.
Australian captain Steve Smith remained at the top position, despite Australia straight losses against South Africa. Indian captain Virat Kohli attained his career best fourth position after producing a man of the match performance in the second Test against England which India won by 246 runs.
In bowling department Pakistan spin maestro Yasir Shah dropped one place from sixth to seventh in ICC Player Rankings for Test Bowlers. Whereas, New Zealand pace bowler Colin de Grandhomme, who was named player of the match for taking seven wickets in Christchurch, made his entry into the rankings in 61st position.
