Battle hardened Pakistan Army equally ready for conventional war: COAS

imageRAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Saturday visited Sulemanki Sector and spent the day with troops of Army and Rangers, besides war veterans of the Sector.

Interacting with them, General Raheel Sharif said Pakistan Army proudly carried its heritage and tradition of soldiering and chivalry.

"Taking inspiration from our war heroes and their spirit of sacrifice, Pakistan Army has always measured up to any challenge. With an unprecedented level of successes in war against terror, we have become the most battle hardened Army and are equally ready for conventional war," he said.

He especially appreciated the highest state of morale of troops and best form of vigilance along Line of Control (LoC), Working Boundary and international border.

The COAS laid a wreath at the monument of Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed (NH).

He paid rich tributes to the Shuhada and Ghazis for fighting bravely and rendering supreme sacrifice in defence of the motherland.

Earlier on arrival at Sulemanki, the COAS was received by Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali, Commander Bahawalpur Corps Lt Gen Javaid Iqbal and Director General Punjab Rangers Maj Gen Umer Farooq Burki.
