ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali has said that there will be no issue if the investigation gets started from the ruler, adding that the court doesnt want to give an impression that accountability is limited only for the common man.
A five-member larger bench of SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali resumed hearing of the case, on Thursday.
During the proceedings, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa commented that since accountability has to get started from somewhere, starting it with the rulers will take the things forward.
The CJ, while commenting on the application filed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif before the court, said that the new applications are being poured in every day and if the court gets involved with them all then the case will never be decided.
Premiers counsel filed an application before the court stating that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) documents which were filed today were not satisfactory, calling the evidence bogus.
The applicant should come up with proper documents rather than levelling mere general allegations We reserve a right to respond and object, the petition said.
The court has adjourned the hearing till November 30.
