KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed higher on Thursday having 42411.80 points with a positive change of 7.33 and volume of 140,073,550 shares.

High and Low were 42526.93 and 42326.98 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 496,679,260 shares with 408 total traded companies out of which 203 were up 182 were down and 23 were unchanged.

COMMERCIAL BANKS was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 103,559,300 shares. It was followed by ENGINEERING. with a total traded volume of 71,187,300 shares.

The three top traded companies were Dost Steel (R) with a volume of 52,318,500 and price per share of 5.18 (1.00), P.I.A.C.(A) with a volume 41,490,500 of price per share of 11.63 (0.98), Summit Bank with a volume 23,116,000 of price per share of 4.52 (0.29).

The top three advancers were Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share 3916.55 (186.50), Philip Morris Pak. with price per share of 1920.02 (82.96) and Island Textile share of 1260.00 (60.00).

The top three decliners were Rafhan Maize(XD).. with price per share of 7457.50 (-242.50), Khyber TobaccoXD with price per share of 971.10 (-46.90) and Sapphire FiberXD.. share of 978.95 (-18.55).
