Govt College of Science professor shot dead in Lahore

LAHORE: Government College of Science’s Professor Rao Altaf was shot dead on Tuesday by unknown assailants in the Punjab capital.

According to police and rescue officials, the incident occurred in Lahore’s Iqbal Town area where unidentified gunmen riding two motorbikes fired shots on Professor Rao Altaf’s car.

Prof Altaf was returning home after dropping off his son at school when the incident occurred. His body was later shifted to Mayo Hospital.

Meanwhile, police are busy collecting evidence and finding motives behind the murder. closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the incident is also being examined in this regard.
