HONG KONG: Sept 30, 2011 (AFP) - Hong Kong stocks fell 1.28 percent in early trade on Friday despite rises on Wall Street and in Europe following positive US economic data and a German vote to boost the eurozone rescue fund.
The benchmark Hang Seng index fell 231.05 points to 17,780.01 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
