Senate Body to discuss Pakistanis prisoners in foreign jails

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Interior would meet here Tuesday and discuss issue relating to Pakistanis prisoners detained in different foreign jails, especially of Saudi Arabia.

Chairman of the Committee, Senator Talha Mahmood would chair the meeting that would also discuss the steps taken by the government to release and repatriate the innocent Pakistani prisoners, especially those who were detained on petty charges.

The issue of missing prisoners and those who have completed their sentence period but still detained and reported to Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs would also be considered during the meeting.

The other agenda item planned to be discussed is updated position and steps taken to shift diplomatic Missions and residences of diplomats from residential areas of Islamabad to the Diplomatic Enclave.

A press briefing will be held immediately after the meeting outside the Parliament House at about 1.30 p.m.
