TRAP to participate in China-Eurasia Expo

ISLAMABAD: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will participate in 1st China-Eurasia Expo being held next week in Urumqi, China by setting up a Pakistan Pavilion displaying a wide range of export quality products.

"This exposition is aimed at boosting the regional economic cooperation among central, west and south Asian and European countries and to expand collaboration in multilateral fields" a senior TDAP official told APP on Saturday.

He said that the expo would be the "1+9" forums, including the "China Eurasia Forum on Economic Development and Cooperation".

He added that the Chinese government would also hold nine ministerial high-level forums including News Ministers Forum, Overseas Chinese Businessmen & Xinjiang Development Forum, Agricultural Cooperation and Development Forum, Technical Exchange and Cooperation Forum, Financial Cooperation Forum, China-Eurasia Travel Cooperation and Development Forum, The Forum of Regional and Cooperation in Shanghai Cooperation Organization Business Series Activity and Foreign Entrepreneur Conference during the event.

The official said that China would hold a cultural exhibition during the expo.

The event is likely to be visited by dignitaries from various countries, including Pakistan, he added.

He said that the TDAP in collaboration with Pakistan Embassy in Beijing would organize 4th Pak-China Business Forum on Sept 2 on the sidelines of the exposition.

The B2B meetings of Pakistani businessmen will be arranged with their Chinese and other European counterparts in this forum, he added.

He said that 30 high profile businessmen would participate in this Business Forum representing different business sectors of Pakistan

He added that Commerce Minister Makhdoom M. Amin Fahim would deliver the keynote speech during the Business Forum and lead the delegation of Pakistani businessmen.

Tariq Iqbal Puri, Chief Executive TDAP will officially represent Pakistan on the forum of "Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Business Day", he added.
