SYDNEY: Aviation authorities lifted a ban on budget airline Tiger Airways flights in Australia on Wednesday, saying a new set of conditions had been imposed on the carrier.
In an unprecedented move, Tiger was barred from operating domestic flights by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) some six weeks ago over "serious and imminent" safety risks.
"Tiger can resume operations at a date and time of their choosing," said CASA's aviation safety director John McCormick, adding the lifting of the suspension was effective immediately.
