NICL case hearing adjourned until August
LAHORE: Lahore District and Sessions Judge Mujahid Mustaqim heard the National Insurance Corporation Ltd (NICL) scam case on Tuesday against PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi, the son of former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
According to a private television channel, the counsel for Moonis, Rai Bashir Ahmad, told the court that his client had nothing to do with the NICL scam and all witnesses against him had changed their statements.
He asked the court to acquit his client.
The court summoned the Federal Investigation Agency officials as well as Moonis Elahi on the next hearing.
The court has accepted the bail plea application of two other accused -- bank managers Kahlil Ahmad and Rizwan Bhatti -- for hearing and issued notices to the authorities concerned.
