ABBOTTABAD: Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Wednesday that culture is a identity of the nation and only those nations can survive who have strong cultural heritage and norms.
Provincial Government has decided to revamp the culture department by creating a full-fledged directorate.
He said while addressing concluding ceremony of three days capacity building workshop for district based Journalists on culture and tourism at Nathiagali which was organized by cultural Journalists Forum in collaboration with tourism corporation KPK.
Main Iftikhar Hussain stressed the need to play active role by every individual of the society for the promotion and reniance of our culture.
He welcomed the establishment of cultural Journalists Forum at this serious juncture of national history and assured all out help for the forum to discharge its activities.
He said that founders of ANP have always worked for the peace and tranquility in the region and promoted socio culture values and we being strong believers of the philosophy of non violence.
While narrating the establishment of full fledged culture department at provincial level, the Minister informed that a handsome amounts have been earmarked for the promotion of culture department, which would be utilized for the promotion art and artists.
He said that culture academy has been planned to establish at provincial level for this purpose.
He said that Rs5 million have been specially approved for the repair and rehabilitate the air-conditioning and sound system of the Nishtar Hall Peshawar.
