ISLAMABAD: The electricity shortfall in the country on Wednesday slightly reduced to 5,610 MW from 5,722 MW as the total power generation was recorded as 12,736 MW against the demand of 18,346 MW during the last 24 hours.
According to the brief on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 4,785 MW,WAPDA thermal 1,746 MW, IPPs 6,076 MW and Rental 129 MW.
As many as 740 MW was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the report further said.
The water level in Tarbela and Mangla dams was recorded as 1441.26 feet and 1188 feet with water discharge of 150,000 cusecs and 15,000 cusecs respectively. The power demand has also increased due to rising mercury level in the country and stood at 18,346 MW.
