Pakistani famed actor/director Sarmad Khoosat will release a movie based on a life of veteran writer ‘Mian Manto’ by the end of this year.
‘Humsafar’ director Sarmad Khoosat took to Twitter to make an announcement about the film and said, “Film ‘Main Manto’ is in the phase of post production and it will be release by the end of this year InshaAllah”.
According to local media reports, Biopic film Written by award winning playwright, Shahid Mahmood Nadeem, the film is based on the life of renowned literary figure Saadat Hasan Manto and has a stellar cast, including Sarmad himself in the lead (playing Manto), with Saba Qamar, Sania Saeed, Mahira Khan, Imran Abbas, Nimra Bucha, Nadia Afgan, classical dancer Suhaee Abro, Savera Nadeem, Yasira Rizvi, Hina Bayat, Arjumand Rahim, Faysal Qureshi, Rehan Sheikh, Shamoon Abbasi, Humayun Saeed, Irfan Khoosat, Akbar Subhani, Ali Sheikh and Adnan Jaffar among others.
Writer Saadat Hassan Manto is known as ‘Mian Manto’ and ‘Manto’ was also a film and script writer and a journalist. He is famously known for his short stories like ‘Iss Manjdhar Mein’, ‘Bu’, ‘Thanda Ghost’ and ‘Toba Tek Singh’. He was only 42 when he died of liver failure. Renowned movie ‘Mirza Ghalib’ is also written by Saadat Hassan Manto.
Reportedly, actress Sania Saeed will be seen as Begum Manto and Saba Qamar will be playing the role of ‘Melody Queen’ Madam Noor Jahan in the movie. The legendary singer/actress Noor Jahan was big fan of Manto.
The final release date has not been disclosed yet.
