HYDERABAD: The United States Consul General at Karachi William J. Martin has said that under Reconstruction Opportunity Zone (ROZ), the US Government was trying to get a bill passed from the Congress for maximum financial assistance for uplift of various sectors of life in Pakistan..
The United States is fully committed to help the people to recover from the affects of flood and in this regard, 190 million dollars has been granted to Sindh Government as financial assitance to flood victims through Watan Card Programme, which they needed desperately for their rehabilitation.
The US Counsel General said this while talking to notables of Hyderabad at the residence of eminent media person and Enditor-in-Chief Daily Ibrat Kazi Asad Abid, a lunch with the businessmen, hosted by the President Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gohar Ullah, delegation of Hyderabad Press Club, led by President Muhammad Hussain at the residence of Khalid Khokhar and during interaction with the students of University of Sindh at Jamshoro on Thursday.
Soon after super flood in Pakistan, US Government has provided 690 million dollars to Pakistan for relief work and now extended its financial assistance for the rehabilitation of the flood affected people, he said.
He said that the US government is also extending full support to Pakistan in various sectors particularly health, education and energy sectors aimed to improve the socio economic condition of the people of the country.
