LHC dismisses petition of CNG stations

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Friday dismissed a petition challenging suspension of gas to CNG Stations.

The single bench comprising Justice Ijaz Ahmad was hearing the petition filed by various CNG stations.

Earlier, the petitioner's counsel arguing before the court submitted that the gas suspension to CNG stations had not only affected owners but also thousands of workers were being rendered jobless. However, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) counsel submitted that gas supply to CNG stations was suspended to continue supply of gas to domestic consumers.

The court after hearing the arguments dismissed the petition observing that gas supply to the domestic consumers should be ensured on priority basis.
