MULTAN: Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Monday that Musharraf's trial should be initiated from October 12, 1999 in order to bring many facts to light.
Talking to journalists after funeral prayer of Ghulam Mohiyuddin, father of federal secretary Ejaz Chaudhary, Gilani said that Musharraf's trial from October 12, 1999 would disclose many secrets and facts.
To a question about midterm polls, he said that Pakistan People's Party was a democratic party, adding that the country could not afford midterm polls at this critical juncture.
To another query about review appeal against his disqualification, he said that he had filed review petition when Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary was chief justice, adding that he was waiting result of the petition.
He maintained that he was deprived of power as he carried out robust development in South Punjab and some elements did not want developed South Punjab. He claimed that he got immense appreciation for the uplift work in the region not only in country but also at foreign level.
About PTI's sit-in protest in KPK, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said that sit-in protest could not stop drone strikes.
Former MPA Malik Ahmed Hassan Dehrr, Dr Javed Siddique, Asif Dehrr and others were also present.
