LAHORE: Bearish trend prevailed in the Lahore Stock Exchange on Monday as it shed 53.77 points, following the LSE-25 index opened with 4262.84 and closed at 4209.07 points.
The market's overall situation also did not correspond to an upward trend as it remained at 1.725 million shares to close against the previous turnover of 1.802 million shares, showing a downward slide of 76,600 shares. Out of the total 84 active scrips, only two moved up, 55 remined equal with 27 shed values.
National Bank of Pakistan and Wateen Telecom Limited were major gainer of the day by recording increase in their per share value by Rs 0.64 and Rs 0.01 respectively.
Engro Corporation Limited, D.G.Khan Cement Company and Engro Foods Limited lost their share value by Rs 5.03, Rs 2.55 and Rs 2.05 respectively.
The volume leader of the day included Fauji Cement Company Limited with 346,500 shares, Lafarge Pakistan Cement with 282,500 shares and Karachi Electric Supply Company with 225,000 shares.
