LAHORE: Bearish trend prevailed in Lahore Stock Exchange on Wednesday as it shed 16.34 points, following the LSE-25 index opened with 4274.64 and closed at 4258.30 points.
The market's overall situation also did not correspond to an upward trend as it remained at 1.106 million shares to close against previous turnover of 1.444 million shares, showing a downward slide of 337,800 shares. While, out of the total 88 active scrips 12 moved up, 56 remined equal with 20 shed values.
Fauji Fertilizer Company, Pakistan Petroleum Limited and Century Paper and Board Mills Limited were Major Gainer of the day by recording increase in their per share value by Rs 3.61, Rs 2.71 and Rs 2.40 respectively.
Engro Corporation Limited, Nishat (Chunian) Limited and Dawood Hercules Corporation lost their per share value by Rs 5.73, Rs 2.30 and Rs 2.18 respectively.
The Volume Leader of the day included The Bank of Punjab Limited with 488,500 shares, Lafarge Pakistan Cement with 155,000 shares and Fauji Cement Company Limited with 72,500 shares.
