LAHORE: Bearish trend prevailed in Lahore Stock Exchange on Tuesday as it shed 6.95 points, following the LSE-25 index opened with 5056.79 and closed at 5049.84 points.
The market's overall situation, however, did not correspond to an upward trend as it remained at 2.899 million shares to close against previous turnover of 5.785 million shares, showing a downward move of 2.886 million shares. While, out of the total 104 active scrips 18 moved up, 56 remined equal with 30 shed values.
MARI Petroleum Company, Al-Ghazi Tractors Limited and Pakistan State Oil Company Limited were major gainers of the day by recording increase in their per share value by Rs 9.18, Rs 7.19 and Rs 3.10 respectively.
Attock Refinery Limited, Engro Foods Limited and Highnoon Laboratories Limited lost their per share value by Rs 9.66, Rs 7.45 and Rs 6.67 respectively.
The volume leader of the day included Fauji Cement Company Limited with 620,000 shares, The Bank of Punjab Limited with 434,000 shares and Lafarge Pakistan Cement Limited with 317,500 shares.
