QUITO: 
Five Ecuadoran military personnel were killed Thursday aboard a small Air Force plane that crashed in the Amazon jungle region, officials said.
The Twin Otter aircraft was flying near Tena, capital of the Amazonian province of Napo, when it crashed. There was one survivor, who was brought to a hospital in Tena.
The Ecuadoran Air Force said a board of inquiry has been formed to determine the cause of the crash.
