SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Sunday that the next elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) would be held in a fair and free manner.
Addressing a press conference here, she said that all political parties were united for the Kashmir cause and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) always raised voice for Kashmiris' rights, without giving any consideration to political interests.
She said that elections on Kashmiri seats in Sialkot would be fair and transparent and no one would be allowed to rig them to ensure mandate of Kashmiris.
Firdous said President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani had acknowledged Muslim Conference's government in the Azad Kashmir which was unprecedented.
Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Sultan Mahmood said an economically and politically strong Pakistan was in favour of Kashmiris.
