ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's former ambassador to the US Syeda Abida Hussain has termed President Asif Ali Zardari's visit to Turkey as very important and pertinent.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, she said Turkey is a member of NATO and it will be in the interest of Pakistan if Turkey becomes center of peace efforts in Afghanistan.
She said if Pakistan, Iran and Turkey adopt one policy on Afghan issue, the role of India will automatically be reduced despite the desire of international powers.
She said the approach regarding central role of Turkey in Afghanistan is based on sagacity.
Recalling the deep friendship and attachment of Turkey with Pakistan, she said Turkey and China are two countries, which never let down Pakistan at any forum on any issue.
