Babar Awan tenders resignation
ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Dr.Babar Awan has tendered his resignation as Minister and it was disclosed by him while appearing before a three-member bench of the Supreme Court in Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Reference case here on Wednesday.
Dr.Babar Awan also presented a copy of his resignation before the bench during the hearing of the Reference by a three member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
The resignation was tendered by him from the portfolio of the ministry with the view that he has decided to plead the case of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
The hearing of the Reference has been adjourned for Thursday.
It may be mentioned here that the reference has been sent to the Supreme Court by President Asif Ali Zardari under Article 186 of the Constitution.
