ISLAMABAD: Special Committee III of Public Account Committee (PAC) on Monday directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to serve notices to ministers, parliamentarians and government officers for visiting different embassies without its prior permission.

The Chairman of Special Committee of Public Account Committee Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada directed the secretary Foreign Affairs Salman Bashir to ensure that notices should be issued to all the Ministers, MNAs, MPAs and government officers who violated the law of the land by visiting the embassies without proper permission from ministry of foreign affairs.

He said that all high dignities of the country are bound to respect the law and should not visit embassies on direct invitation.

The Chairman also asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to write letters to all the embassies not to invite ministers, MNAs, MPAs and government officer in their functions directly.

Secretary Foreign Affairs Salman Bashir assured that the rules will be implemented in this regard. He said time to time foreign office has informed the ministers, MNAs, MPAs and government officers not to visit embassies directly. However, he said on the directive of the committee the ministry of foreign affairs would issue fresh directive in this regard.

He also asked the secretary Foreign Affairs to issue instructions through media briefing and Radio and TV.

1997-98 of ministry of foreign affairs, audit report Vol-1 on the account of federal government for the years 1998-98, audit report vol-1 the accounts of federal government 1997-98, audit report Vol-I on the account of federal government for the year 1997-98 and audit report Vol-I on the account of federal government for the year 1997-98 were also examined in the meeting.

The PAC directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to recover the amount pending with different sectors and report with in one month. The meeting was attended by the MNA Saeed Ahmed Zafar, official of ministry of foreign affairs and officials of audit.
