Iran military plane crashes, pilot killed

TEHRAN: An Iranian military training aircraft crashed Sunday near the city of Shiraz, killing the pilot, the state news agency IRNA reported.

IRNA said the aircraft was a Russian made Sukhoi, adding that the cause of the crash was unknown. It did not offer further details.

In addition to Russian and Chinese military planes which Iran has, it also has American planes which it purchased before the Islamic revolution of 1979 and is currently modernising them.
