ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government have made tight security arrangements for the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) public meeting being held in Lahore on Sunday.
According to a private news channel, Punjab Police will deploy 1,000 policemen, including four deputy superintendents and Inspectors, around Alhamra Cultural Complex, the venue for the meeting, to monitor the security situation.
The city administration asked the shop owners of the market beneath the Gaddafi Stadium to close their shops for two days. The traders staged a protest against the orders and blocked Ferozepur Road for some time.
